• What is Light Us?
Light us is the first project of the association called MIPAI wishing to propose to the United Nations a symbol representing the commitment of the States participating in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP) in favor of Sustainable Development.
Like the Olympic Flame, this symbol will travel every year from COP to COP on sustainable transport.
• What are the characteristics of light us?
Light us is a biodegradable and biodegradable torch, fashioned in 100% biodegradable materials to promote “green production“.
It is bright and photovoltaic. It will produce light and be self-sufficient in energy.
And it is smart and connected to allow the creation of interactions between the torch and the public.
• What is sustainable development?
The online red-headed Encyclopedia defines the term sustainable development as a mode of development that “satisfies the needs of present generations without hampering the possibilities of future generations to satisfy their own” This notion appears for the first time in “Our Common Future”, a report published by the United Nations in 1987, under the leadership of Gro Harlem Brundtland, Chairperson of the World Commission on Environment and Development.
• What is renewable energy?
An energy is said to be renewable when it comes from a source that nature renews rapidly and permanently and therefore inexhaustible, as opposed to fossil or nuclear energies.
The exploitation of this type of energy generates little waste and polluting emissions, they are called clean energy or green energy. It comes from two natural sources: the sun and the earth (internal heat)
• What does photovoltaic energy mean?
Photovoltaic solar energy is an electric energy produced from solar rays.
• What is MIPAI?
Created in 2016, the MIPAI association houses a research office whose objective is to produce and disseminate sustainable economic solutions designed to help Africa in its openness and development.
The aim of MIPAI is to inform, sensitize and mobilize citizens to good practices related to sustainable development in order to achieve the 17 objectives set by the United Nations.
MIPAI is committed to supporting and supporting Africa in its development, drawing notably on successes and good economic, ecological and social practices observed throughout the world. It also aims to develop and promote training in new digital technologies in order to help African companies to increase their competitiveness; To enable citizens to appropriate the new digital tools and to perfect their uses in order to make the most of the digital revolution.
MIPAI will also contribute to the reflection and design of tools for the production of renewable energy. It will contribute to raising the awareness of citizens and businesses about eco-gestures in order to preserve the environment.
• What is the scope of MIPAI?
Thanks to the commitment of the volunteers and the support of the partners, MIPAI aims to:
Organize meetings and awareness-raising actions to advocate the cause of sustainable development with decision-makers and civil society actors (NGOs, consumers, etc.);
Organize conferences and reflection seminars centered around a problem related to sustainable development, renewable energies … in order to promote the exchange and pooling of skills;
Develop and federate skills networks in Africa and internationally;
Conducting field actions as close as possible to the populations.
• What is the Ecological Footprint?
The ecological footprint makes it possible to measure the pressure exerted by man on nature.
It is a tool that evaluates the productive surface needed by a population to meet its consumption of resources and its needs in terms of waste management. Globally, the ecological footprint of humankind is an estimate of the biologically productive terrestrial or marine area needed to meet all of our needs
• Ecology for NULS!
To be green is to have respect for its environment, it is to act in the daily by simple gestures that protect its natural environment.
These little gestures accomplished by each of us in addition can give great results. Being green means becoming aware that living conditions on our planet are deteriorating, despite all the progress made in many areas.
Every day I can act for:
1- Reduce my water consumption: Avoid letting water run when washing, cleaning vegetables, dishes in the car; Use detergents that do not require a lot of water when rinsing; Reuse water from the washing machine to the toilet (install a tank system connected to the flush) or to wash the floors; Repair water leaks without delay; Saving on watering water without thirsting plants …
2- Reduce my energy consumption: Cooking dishes that do not require long cooking; Turn off lights in unoccupied rooms; Prefer chandeliers that do not have many bulbs; Unplug electrical appliances when not in use; Learn not to spin linen to avoid ironing: Avoid getting around in your neighborhood by car and in places accessible by public transport …
3- Reduce and manage waste Sort your waste: bottles, cardboard, bulbs, batteries … even when the municipality did not plan to install reserved bins; Avoid throwing away old phones and computers with the rest of the garbage (think of museums); Return unused drugs to the pharmacist; Consume in moderation to avoid waste and waste production …
